That's me! Laura Schmidbauer of Laura Schmidbauer Photography. I started my business in Spring of 2010 when our oldest son was a senior in high school.

Knowing I wanted to be my own boss after our return from Germany, and start my own family business, I enrolled into some local community classes taught by my photography mentor Lisa Blaschke. Lisa took me under her wing, having me assist her on sessions, design wedding albums, and work weddings as her second photographer. Lisa encouraged me to become an active member of the Professional Photographers of America and their Texas affiliate, TPPA. I took yearly classes to hone my photography skills even further though the Texas School of Professional Photography. Each year I continue to further my education with some of the top instructors though PPA and across the country. 

I primarily photograph with my main body, a Canon Mark D IV, along with Canon's L series 24-105mm and 70-200mm lenses. I also have a Mark D III, 2 additional Canon Mark D II's as my back ups, along with a Canon 60 D as a backup to the backups as well as other Canon and Tamron lenses.

I am trained in both natural light and off camera flash photography, allowing me to capture your precious memories under any lighting condition. I am also licensed and insured.

Kurt Schmidbauer is my main assistant and second photographer.

Kurt and I actually met when he was a photographer at an amusement park and he told me to stop right there so he could take his most beautiful picture of the day (I fell for it). We even worked together at the same amusement park a few years later as photographers so it was only natural Kurt would become my main second for my business. 

The picture of Kurt was photographed by me during one of the photography courses I had taken. He was modeling for senior portraits. 

The picture of me was photographed by Kurt during a snow storm in Delaware where we were previously stationed. 

Kurt and I make a wonderful team together! We've been married for 27 years, have 4 grown children and one grandchild.
